Wisconsin Express 2016 – May 15th – 20th

  • Wisconsin Express is a one week cultural immersion experience designed to give health professions students an opportunity to study firsthand the diverse local and regional healthcare innovations and challenges in one of Wisconsin’s urban or rural communities. Multidisciplinary groups of 6-12 students stay overnight in the community to explore the region’s cultural diversity and healthcare, developing strategies for intercultural and interprofessional effectiveness in healthcare practice. Throughout the week, participants have opportunities to reflect on and evaluate their experiences.
  • 2016 Wisconsin Express Community Sites
    • Ashland, Beloit/Janesville, Green Bay, La Crosse, Menominee & Shawano Counties, Milwaukee, Minocqua/Lac du Flambeau, Rusk & Barron Counties, Sheboygan, Stevens Point, Wausau
  • Activities vary by site and may include:
    • Experiential and interactive learning in groups
    • Participation in community activities
    • Access to healthcare organizations behind the scenes
    • Conversations about life in the community and region
    • Interactions with practitioners in primary and public healthcare
